Job summary

Solventum, a healthcare company, seeks an EHS Specialist to ensure regulatory compliance and drive improvements at our Irvine, CA site. You will lead stormwater and hazardous waste programs, provide technical EHS support for new equipment and processes, and participate in incident investigations to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement
  • Assist with incident investigations including root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions including preparation and follow-up

How you will make an impact
  • Support site EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including regulatory reporting and tracking, while promoting a strong EHS culture and awareness of initiatives
  • Lead the site's Stormwater and Hazardous Waste programs, serving as the primary point of contact for compliance activities, monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions, with support from the EHS Manager
  • Provide technical EHS support for new or modified equipment, new product introductions, incoming material approval, and management of change
  • Conduct risk assessments and support implementation of corrective actions to reduce risk, drive continuous improvement, and improve overall site performance
  • Assist with incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventative action development
  • Support inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions, including preparation, participation, and follow-up
Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND (2) two years of experience in EHS in a private, public, government or military environment
  • OR
  • High School Diploma/GED from AND (6) six years in experience in EHS in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with Plant Management and production employees
  • Strong attention to detail with effective prioritization and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001
  • Experience with hazardous waste management, stormwater management, lock out/tag out, machine guarding, and/or emergency response teams in a manufacturing environment
  • Certifications such as: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH); Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM); Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other related credentials

Travel: May include up to 5% [domestic/international]
