The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Site Lead at Careers and Highline Warren is responsible for supporting and leading EHS initiatives at an assigned facility in West Virginia. The role partners with leadership, supervisors, and team members to promote a strong safety culture, reduce injuries, and maintain regulatory compliance.

You will lead training, audits, incidents, and continuous improvement while aligning with the company's EHS strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, safety audits, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Professional certifications such as OSHA 30 Hour, CHST, ASP, GSP, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary EHS resource for the facility and provide daily guidance on EHS matters.

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for new hires and current staff.
  • Assist with incident response, workers' comp, and return-to-work activities.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and maintain regulatory records.
  • Support regulatory inspections and audits.

SUMMARY

The Environmental Health and Safety EHS Site Lead is responsible for supporting and leading environmental health and safety initiatives at an assigned facility to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements The EHS Site Lead serves as the primary on site EHS resource for day to day operations partnering with leadership supervisors and team members to promote a strong safety culture reduce injuries and illnesses and maintain environmental compliance This position provides hands on leadership for EHS programs training audits incident investigations and continuous improvement efforts while supporting the overall EHS strategy established by Company leadership This position requires regular interaction with team members in manufacturing and warehouse environments

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function Serve as the primary EHS resource for the assigned facility and provide daily guidance to associates supervisors and managers regarding EHS mattersPromote and reinforce a culture where safety is a core value and an integral part of all business activitiesSupport implementation and execution of corporate EHS programs policies and proceduresLead site level safety initiatives and assist management in achieving EHS performance objectivesCoordinate and facilitate safety committee meetings and employee engagement activitiesConduct routine facility inspections safety observations compliance audits and risk assessmentsInvestigate incidents near misses and property damage events; identify root causes and assist in developing corrective and preventive actionsDesign coordinate and deliver EHS training programs for new hires and current team membersSupport managers and supervisors with accident response workers compensation administration and return to work activitiesMonitor safety performance metrics and prepare required reports documentation and corrective action trackingMaintain site specific EHS programs procedures permits and regulatory recordsEnsure team members and contractors follow company safety requirements and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment PPEConduct contractor safety orientations and monitor contractor compliance while on company propertyAssist with environmental compliance activities including inspections waste management stormwater monitoring and permit compliance as applicableIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement that enhance safety performance productivity and operational efficiencySupport regulatory inspections and internal or external auditsServe as an emergency response resource and participate in incident response activities including off hours support when necessaryMaintain an open and candid working relationship with leadership regarding EHS concerns and improvement opportunitiesAdhere to established company values practices policies and procedures at all timesFollow and support compliance with all applicable safety environmental and employment regulationsDemonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned locationMay be required to travel up to 25 of the time; emergency travel may be required with limited notice

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

An individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science Industrial Hygiene Engineering or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Three 3 to five 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing warehouse or industrial environment Experience conducting incident investigations safety audits and regulatory compliance activities Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record Professional certifications such as OSHA 30 Hour CHST ASP GSP or equivalent are preferred
