Job summary

Sterling Industrial, LLC in Evansville, Indiana seeks a Safety Professional to conduct daily site safety inspections, document findings, and lead corrective actions. You will assist investigations of accidents and near-misses to identify root causes.

Qualifications include a health and safety degree, OSHA CFR 1926/1910 knowledge, 5+ years in industrial settings, and certifications such as OSHA 30/500. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• A 4-year or 2-year degree in health and safety or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 and 1910 standards.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Safety Professional in industrial/power plant environments.
• First Aid, CPR, OSHA 30, OSHA 500 or additional Board of Certified Safety Professional certifications is preferred.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills to effectively manage, train, motivate and communicate with employees, supervisors and customers.
• Ability to manage personnel with strong leadership abilities to motivate and coach personnel to accomplish company-wide goals.
• Good computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving history.
• Satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor site safety programs and policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
• Deliver EHS training programs for employees.
• Promote safety awareness and a culture of safety.
• Maintain records of training sessions and participant attendance.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and drills.
• Coordinate emergency response teams and resources.
• Ensure all staff are familiar with emergency procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of safety data, training, and incidents.
• Prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Update and manage EHS documentation, including policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for site management and employees.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote integrated safety practices.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and community organizations.
