Job summary

Forest River Bus in South Hutchinson, KS is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead EHS initiatives in a Collins Bus manufacturing setting. The role develops, implements, and monitors EHS systems to manage risk and drive sustainable improvement.

You will implement EHS Excellence, ensure OSHA/EPA compliance, develop training, track metrics, investigate incidents, and lead committees with local leadership to promote engagement and accountability across plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene, safety sciences, environmental sciences, engineering, or related field.
• 5 - 7 years of EHS Management experience.
• CSP, CHMM, or other related professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and promote the corporate EHS Excellence system to increase employee awareness, engagement, and accountability to drive continuous improvement and business performance.
• Create strategies for development and execution of programs, policies, and procedures addressing injury prevention, risk management, compliance, and environmental protection.
• Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and requirements including monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.
• Develop and implement strategic training programs educating stakeholders on EHS policies, procedures, and company standards.
• Develop and track EHS and sustainability metrics to analyze and trend performance and program engagement.
• Provide technical EHS support to stakeholders including investigations, ergonomic assessments, and interpretation of regulations.
• Develop a communication plan to educate employees about EHS policies and their impact on business and operations.
• Coach and mentor stakeholders to promote ownership in implementation of environmental and safety programs.
• Conduct EHS assessments to identify gaps and provide corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate waste management activities with licensed vendors in accordance with regulations.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain various EHS plans and drills.
• Form, facilitate and participate in EHS Committees.
• Develop collaborative relationships with local leadership to drive a culture of EHS excellence.
• Represent the organization in community or industry EHS groups.
• Perform other duties as requested.
