Job summary

Meyer Utility Structures is seeking an experienced EHS Manager for its Gadsden, AL plant to lead environmental, health and safety programs and drive a zero-injury culture. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while coordinating with operations to integrate safety into daily work.

The role requires a BS degree (preferred), 5+ years in manufacturing EHS leadership, and knowledge of ISO 14001/OHSAS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred
• 5+ years in an EHS leadership role in manufacturing
• In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations
• Hold safety related certifications (ASP, CSP) or eligible
• Self-motivated and results oriented; demonstrated problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team facilitation skills
• Strong influencing skills across the organization and with all levels of employees
• Courage to take on and advocate for contrary points of view at all levels of the organization
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Familiarity with environmental/safety management systems (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18000, VPP, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Lead site EHS programs and governance
• Develop and improve site-wide EHS programs
• Foster a safety-first culture among site employees
• Provide EHS training and technical advice
• Conduct internal EHS audits and follow-up on recommendations
• Oversee incident investigations and corrective actions
• Lead crisis management programs and response
• Coordinate with contractors on safety programs
• Maintain environmental permits and timely reporting
• Mentor junior staff in EHS management
