Job summary

Huma, Inc. in the United States seeks a seasoned EHS leader to oversee environmental, health and safety programs, regulatory reporting, and training across facilities.

You will develop and maintain regulatory-compliant policies, conduct audits, and advance safety initiatives to protect personnel and the environment. The role requires in-depth EHS regulatory knowledge, strong training delivery, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of direct experience in the field and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Extensive knowledge of EHS statutes, laws, and regulations.
• Experience in developing and providing EHS related employee training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
• High level of diplomacy (people skills) and negotiating skills as the face of Huma to all regulatory visitors/inspectors.

Responsibilities

• Handle regulatory reporting incl. Tier II, TRI, and OSHA logs.
• Develop and maintain internal EHS programs and policies.
• Recommend procedures for DOT, EPA, OSHA, and ARS compliance.
• Provide health and safety training as needed.
• Conduct internal EHS compliance audits at all locations.
• Perform chemical and process hazard assessments for controls and PPE.
• Advise on DOT Motor Carrier and CV requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by EVP of Corporate Compliance and/or EVP of Operations.
• Support Lean manufacturing initiatives.
