Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific in Ridgefield, NJ and Bell Drive sites seeks an EHS Specialist III to independently manage environmental, dangerous goods, and EHS compliance programs. The role ensures adherence to applicable regulatory requirements while reducing occupational injury, environmental impact, and operational risk.

The position collaborates with GMP Manufacturing, Laboratories, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, and Supply Chain to provide technical guidance, deliver training, and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus five years of relevant experience required.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience independently managing defined environmental, waste, dangerous goods, hazardous materials, chemical safety, or related EHS programs.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, DOT, IATA, cGMP, and applicable EHS management systems.
• DOT/IATA training current or required before independent duties.
• Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage EHS programs per OSHA, EPA, NJDEP, and other regs.
• Maintain permits, registrations, reports, and records.
• Coordinate hazardous waste management and dangerous goods handling.
• Serve as site resource for DOT/IATA DG classification and training.
• Lead audits, risk assessments, and incident reviews.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and support safety initiatives.
