Job summary

GenScript Biotech Corporation in New Jersey is seeking an EHS Specialist for an early-career, onsite role at our Piscataway labs and warehouses. You will perform inspections, recordkeeping, and chemical, waste, and training tasks.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in EHS or a related field and 1+ year of EHS or lab experience. Training in OSHA 30, RCRA hazmat, and DOT hazmat will be completed. You’ll support incident reporting and safety program activities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of EHS, laboratory, or related experience.
• Basic understanding of lab safety, PPE, and chemical handling.
• Willingness to complete OSHA 30, RCRA hazhazardous waste, and DOT hazmat training.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections using checklists, record findings, and report to Senior EHS Specialist.
• Update chemical inventory and SDS library; assist with labeling.
• Schedule waste pickups and prepare paperwork; back up hazardous waste signer.
• Schedule new-hire EHS orientation and maintain training records.
• Ensure contractors sign in and hold required documents and permits.
• Record initial incident/near-miss reports and photos for review.
• Enter data into OSHA logs, NJ Right to Know, and corrective action trackers.
• Support emergency drills, PPE distribution, and safety committee logistics.
