Job summary

Fairbanks Morse Defense in Beloit, Wisconsin, seeks an EHS Manager to lead the plant’s environmental, health, and safety programs. You will drive regulatory compliance, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents, and train staff to foster a LEAN, safety-driven culture.

The role focuses on reducing risk through leadership alignment, employee engagement, and KPI achievement while coordinating with maintenance leadership on safety action plans and environmental controls.

Qualifications

• Four year degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline or equivalent field of study is required; Master’s degree is a plus
• 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environmental, health, and safety setting
• Professional certifications such as CIH, CSP, ASP, CHMM, and/or PE are strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required
• Ability to train on EHS-related topics and lead cross-functional safety initiatives

Responsibilities

• Provide facility leadership and support in safety, health, and environmental compliance, including permitting, workers' compensation, and incident investigations
• Assist in developing and executing training and communication materials for the facility
• Analyze, teach, and influence safety improvements and behaviors
• Own and manage EHS-related tasks and projects, including consultants
• Mentor EHS champions at all levels and coordinate safety action plans and projects
• Coordinate job hazard assessments, safety analyses, and hazard mapping
• Develop and execute training and communication materials for teams
• Provide routine analysis of safety and health statistics and KPI trends
• Participate in incident investigations and coordinate corrective actions
• Support engineered safety solutions to prevent future incidents/injuries
