Job summary

Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our team at Ashland Freetown, MA location. This is a highly visible role reporting to the Plant Manager and leading EHS initiatives to uphold regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement across the site.

The ideal candidate has a BS in a related field, 8+ years in EHS within industrial settings, 2+ years of leadership, and strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PSM, and RMP.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant discipline and at least 8 years in EHS in industrial/manufacturing settings.
• Minimum 2 years of managerial/leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, PSM, RMP and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide transformational leadership to foster commitment to EHS and address CAPAs.
• Partner with site leadership to set EHS objectives, targets and strategies.
• Analyze EHS data and conduct incident investigations with clear communication.
• Develop multiple safety solutions and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate mandatory EHS training and leadership-specific sessions.
• Manage environmental permits, regulatory reports, and audits; liaise with agencies.
• Oversee salary, hourly, and contract EHS personnel (min five reports).
• Lead change management and incident investigations with timely corrective action.
• Review and update EHS procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
