Job summary

Step2 Co. is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Streetsboro, OH, for full-time on-site work with travel to other locations as needed. You will lead EHS initiatives, manage regulatory reporting, and drive compliance across sites.

You will develop procedures, deliver training, perform audits, and collaborate with contractors to meet safety targets. Strong knowledge of environmental laws and leadership is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree in safety or environmental engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in safety/environmental role in manufacturing.
• Know federal/state/local environmental laws/regulations.
• Knowledge of behavior-based safety, audit processes, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with hazard awareness and risk assessment for flammable/hazardous materials.
• Strong leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in root-cause analysis and safety assessments/audits.
• Effective training techniques and delivery skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficient with software for analyzing, monitoring, reporting and presenting data.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS initiatives across locations and ensure consistent execution.
• Maintain data and information systems.
• Report progress to sites and company leadership.
• Review regulations and determine impact to sites/facilities.
• Develop procedures and forms for all functions.
• Develops training materials and delivers training.
• Conduct internal audits to identify and correct deficiencies.
• Manage regulatory reporting, audits and inspections.
• Collaborate with contractors to meet compliance and safety targets.
• Communicate safety, health, and environmental information among stakeholders.
• Maintain permits and programs (SPCC, SWP3, NPDES, non-Title V).
• Provide support for facilities safety and incident investigations.
• Support plant shutdowns and pre-startup activities.
• Research safety/environmental requirements for equipment standards.
• Monitor permits and negotiate new permits when required.
• Analyze trends to drive proactive risk reduction and continuous improvement.
