Job summary

ConMet is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to lead the EHS program at our Monroe and Charlotte manufacturing facilities. You will inspect work areas, plan safety activities, and coordinate training to prevent hazards while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will develop and sustain health, safety, and environmental policies, lead investigations of incidents, and drive continuous improvement in ISO 14001 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in occupational health, safety, environmental, engineering, chemical sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university or equivalent skills obtained from work experience.
• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certification
• HazMat DOT, RCRA, OSHA 40 HR Certification

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning, development, implementation, and administration of occupational health and safety programs, policies, and procedures at Monroe and Charlotte facilities.
• Represent the Company to regulatory officials in compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety rules and Company policies.
• Coordinate investigation of safety-related issues and employee injuries and assist with corrective action development and implementation.
• Supervise and conduct inspections, studies, and on-site surveys to evaluate and correct health, safety, or environmental hazards.
• Develop, coordinate, and conduct occupational health and safety education, training programs and safety committee meetings.
• Coordinate environmental programs and projects to maintain ISO 14001 and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Serve as the plant emergency coordinator and advise management on environmental policies and system improvements.
• Maintain records and prepare technical reports documenting activities and outcomes.
