A leading food and consumer goods manufacturing organization is seeking an EHS Manager for its Fremont, Ohio facility. This person will be responsible for driving environmental, health, and safety performance while fostering a proactive safety culture across the site. The role will focus on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, continuous improvement, and employee engagement to support operational excellence. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS professional to lead site-wide initiatives and make a measurable impact on workplace safety and environmental stewardship.

The Role

• Lead and execute site Environmental, Health & Safety strategies that align with organizational goals and operational priorities.
• Drive EHS performance through the use of leading and lagging indicators, reporting results and implementing corrective action plans where needed.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
• Partner with operational, corporate, legal, and cross-functional teams to identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and strengthen a culture of continuous improvement.
• Manage EHS programs including safety, environmental compliance, business continuity, facility security, workers’ compensation processes, training initiatives, and management system implementation.
• Develop and mentor 2 EHS Coordinators.

The Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety leadership within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations and EHS management systems, with experience supporting regulatory compliance programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives, engage stakeholders at all levels, and build a strong safety-first culture.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHCM, OSHA certifications, or similar credentials are preferred, along with excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
