Job summary

Module X Solutions LLC in Shreveport, LA is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental programs within our manufacturing facility. This role focuses on safeguarding workers and ensuring regulatory adherence.

You will develop, implement, and maintain policies, conduct risk assessments and audits, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement. Collaboration with production and maintenance is essential to sustain a safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of HSE management in manufacturing, oil & gas, or construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, health and safety, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental laws.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 / 14001 is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies and programs compliant with OSHA, EPA, DOT.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and drive corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement preventive actions.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance to resolve safety issues.
  • Prepare environmental reports for regulators and maintain permits.
  • Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.

JOB SUMMARY:

The EHS Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the health, safety, and environmental practices within our manufacturing facility. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization. The EHS Manager works closely with all levels of staff to identify risks, mitigate hazards, and continuously improve safety performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures and programs aligned with local, state, and federal regulations including compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and local/state environmental and safety regulations, maintain permits, manage reporting requirements, and liaise with regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and drive corrective actions ensuring audit readiness and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement programs that promote a safe working environment.
  • Lead and investigate accidents/incidents, injuries, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and track safety performance metrics (e.g., TRIR, lost-time injury rate, accident frequency, near-miss reporting, leading indicators) to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Design and deliver safety training, meetings, awareness campaigns, and toolbox talks to foster a culture of safety by promoting engagement, accountability, and responsibility at all levels of the workforce.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, maintenance) to implement improvements and resolve safety issues.
  • Ensure the facility complies with all environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., waste disposal, air quality, water use, hazardous materials). Prepare environmental reports for regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly update emergency response plans for various scenarios (e.g., fire, chemical spill, workplace accidents). Conduct drills and ensure employees are familiar with emergency protocols. Maintain emergency response equipment and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Work Experience:
  • 5-10 years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management within manufacturing, oil & gas, or construction.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or energy sectors, with hands-on EHS management and regulatory compliance experience
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health, safety engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certifications) preferred.
Related Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and safety standards.
  • Experience with safety management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and experience in training and engaging employees.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations, identify risks, and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
