Job summary

DAVIS Construction seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to identify hazards on large project sites and implement corrective measures to eliminate risk. You will integrate EHS into preconstruction, logistics, and project planning discussions and lead audits across complex projects.

You will develop training, conduct field inspections, and drive safety performance with leadership and trade partners to uphold DAVIS safety culture on Rockville, MD sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health + Safety Sciences or related field, or equivalent safety experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in occupational EHS in construction.
  • Safety Trained Supervisor Certification, or equivalent.
  • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to employees, trade partners and clients.

  • Identify existing and predictable hazards on large project sites and take corrective measures to eliminate risk.
  • Lead comprehensive EHS audits and field inspections on complex or high-risk projects.
  • Identify systemic issues and ensure timely resolution and accurate documentation.
  • Conduct peer audits of other EHS Managers and share findings with leadership.
  • Maintain a strong field presence and model EHS leadership behaviors.
  • Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses, Pre-Task Plans, and high-risk work scopes.

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is

$115,000.00 - $140,000.00
