Upside Innovations is a manufacturer of aluminum ramps, steps, canopies, OSHA steps, covered walkways, and custom access products. We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to develop, lead, and continuously improve our environmental, health, and safety programs while fostering a world-class EHS culture. The EHS Manager will lead the organization’s efforts to maintain regulatory compliance, reduce risk, strengthen safety performance, and identify and implement continuous improvements. Position responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and programs across the organization.
  • Lead incident and accident investigations to identify root causes and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Maintain systems for tracking incidents, near misses, corrective actions, workers’ compensation claims, and safety performance metrics to support data-driven improvements.
  • Lead the organization’s safety training programs, including new hire orientation, ongoing safety education, emergency procedures, and other relevant workplace safety topics.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, records, and documentation to support compliance and employee development.
  • Partner with supervisors and managers to reinforce safe work practices, strengthen accountability, and promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and risk assessments to identify environmental, health, and safety hazards and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain inspection policies, procedures, and schedules, and ensure identified issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and investigations, determine appropriate corrective or preventive measures, and follow through to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA requirements and workers’ compensation laws.
  • Maintain and submit required environmental, safety, and regulatory records and documentation.
  • Evaluate job tasks and work areas to determine appropriate personal protective equipment, safety controls, and safe work practices.
  • Manage and support workers’ compensation claims, including coordinating claim activities with employees, managers, medical providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Participate in workers’ compensation and other safety-related legal or regulatory processes as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and applicable government or regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor incident, injury, and claim trends; identify areas of risk; and develop strategies to improve safety performance and reduce recurrence.
  • Prepare and present EHS reports, metrics, trends, and recommendations to organizational leadership.
  • Provide visible leadership and serve as a trusted resource for environmental, health, and safety matters throughout the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsQualifications and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • Five years of related EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation, claims management, incident investigation, and insurance programs and policies.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering safety training and leading positive organizational change.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
