We are seeking a passionate and proactive EHS Manager to join a growing team in the Fairfield, NJ area.

In this role, you'll be the driving force behind creating and maintaining a world-class safety culture, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards, and championing continuous improvement initiatives across the facility. You'll also play a key role in achieving Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets for the logistics department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage EH&S programs aligned with corporate goals for safety, sustainability, and compliance
  • Monitor and assess working conditions—spending up to 50% of your time on the floor to audit processes, train staff, and implement improvements
  • Facilitate employee and leadership safety training programs, including new hire orientation and job instruction
  • Conduct and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and ergonomic assessments to identify hazards and recommend best practices
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards; maintain audit readiness
  • Direct the Safety Committee and lead monthly meetings, inspections, and corrective action follow-ups
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze safety data to track trends and take proactive steps to reduce workplace injuries
  • Collaborate on corporate sustainability and environmental goals tied to CSR benchmarks
  • Support Workers’ Compensation cases with HR, focusing on prevention and continuous improvement
  • Drive initiatives around air, energy, water, and waste to meet environmental goals and budget targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field (or relevant certifications/training with other degrees)
  • 3+ years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, ideally with a Lean background
  • Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, state/federal regulations, and ISO standards (14001/45001)
  • Strong skills in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and team training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and influence at all levels
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred
