Job summary

HSP US is seeking an EHS Manager to establish and maintain a strong safety culture as we ramp up production. You will develop and implement EHS programs, ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, and partner with teams across the facility to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires leading OSHA audits, building EHS systems for a new US operation, and creating training for onboarding and ongoing safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading OSHA audits and regulatory interactions.
  • Strong background in risk assessment methodologies (JHA, PHA, FMEA, Bowtie).
  • Ability to build EHS programs from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a strong safety culture across the facility.
  • Develop and implement EHS programs ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Lead OSHA audits and regulatory interactions.
  • Prepare the facility for inspections and act as primary contact for agencies.
  • Develop and maintain OSHA logs, incident records, and compliance documents.
  • Conduct risk assessments for high-hazard processes (resin handling, impregnation, autoclaves).
  • Build and implement a complete EHS management system for a new US operation.
  • Create emergency response plans, evacuation routes, and crisis-management procedures.
  • Establish contractors safety protocols for construction, installation, and commissioning.
  • Develop training programs for new US employees (onboarding, safety, refresher).
  • Ensure environmental compliance (hazardous waste, air emissions, SPCC).
  • Maintain environmental permits and documentation for startup and operations.

As the EHS Manager, you play a key role in establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture at HSP US as we ramp up production. You’ll develop and implement EHS programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with teams across the facility to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement. What We Are Looking For!
  • Lead comprehensiveOSHA compliance audits across all production areas (casting, impregnation,autoclaves, machining, winding, high-voltage testing).
  • Experience buildingout EHS & Safety Manuals.
  • Build and maintainOSHA-required programs tailored to high-voltage manufacturing, including: LOTO, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety& Arc Flash, RespiratoryProtection, and Hot Work &Permit-to-Work Systems.
  • Prepare the facilityfor regulatory inspections and serve as the primary point of contact for OSHAand state agencies.
  • Develop and maintainall OSHA logs, incident records, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct detailedrisk assessments for high-hazard processes such as resin handling, vacuumimpregnation, autoclave curing, overhead crane operations, and high-voltagetesting.
  • Perform Job HazardAnalyses (JHAs), Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), and equipment-specific riskevaluations.
  • Build and implementa complete EHS management system for a new U.S. manufacturing operation.
  • Develop emergencyresponse plans, evacuation routes, and crisis-management procedures for afacility undergoing active construction and commissioning.
  • Establish contractorsafety protocols for construction crews, equipment installers, andcommissioning teams.
  • Create trainingprograms for new U.S. employees, including onboarding, job-specific safety, andannual refresher training.
  • Ensure compliancewith environmental regulations related to: Hazardous waste, Chemical storage(resins, solvents, curing agents), Air emissions, Stormwater andwastewater, Spill Prevention,Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC).
  • Maintainenvironmental permits and documentation required for startup and ongoingoperations.
  • Conductenvironmental audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish leadingand lagging safety metrics for a new U.S. operation.
  • Build a proactivesafety culture that aligns with OSHA Standards.
  • Identify gaps inprocesses, training, or equipment and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Support leadershipin building a safety-first mindset across all departments.
What You Will Bring!
  • 7–10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or electrical/high-voltage environments.
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (especially Subparts S, O, R, and Z).
  • Proven experience leading OSHA audits and managing regulatory interactions.
  • Strong background in risk assessment methodologies (JHA, PHA, FMEA, Bowtie).
  • Demonstrated ability to build EHS programs from the ground up.
  • Experience with incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; able to influence across all levels.
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems and digital reporting tools.
  • CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in high-voltage manufacturing, transformer components, or electrical equipment production.
