Job summary

HSP US is seeking an experienced EHS Manager in North Carolina to establish and sustain a strong safety culture as production scales. You will develop and implement OSHA-compliant programs, manage regulatory interactions, and collaborate with teams to reduce risk across the facility.

The role requires 7–10+ years in manufacturing or high-voltage environments, expert knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subparts S, O, R, Z, and a proven track record building EHS systems from the ground up.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or electrical/high-voltage settings.
  • Deep knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subparts S, O, R, and Z.
  • Proven track record leading OSHA audits and regulatory interactions.
  • Strong risk assessment expertise (JHA/PHAs/FMEA/Bowtie).
  • Experience building EHS programs from the ground up.
  • Experience with incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Proficient in communication and leadership across all levels.

As the EHS Manager, you play a key role in establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture at HSP US as we ramp up production. You’ll develop and implement EHS programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and partner with teams across the facility to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement. What We Are Looking For!
  • Lead comprehensive OSHA compliance audits across all production areas (casting, impregnation, autoclaves, machining, winding, high-voltage testing).
  • Experience building out EHS & Safety Manuals.
  • Build and maintain OSHA-required programs tailored to high-voltage manufacturing, including: LOTO, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety & Arc Flash, Respiratory Protection, and Hot Work & Permit-to-Work Systems.
  • Prepare the facility for regulatory inspections and serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA and state agencies.
  • Develop and maintain all OSHA logs, incident records, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments for high-hazard processes such as resin handling, vacuum impregnation, autoclave curing, overhead crane operations, and high-voltage testing.
  • Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), and equipment-specific risk evaluations.
  • Build and implement a complete EHS management system for a new U.S. manufacturing operation.
  • Develop emergency response plans, evacuation routes, and crisis-management procedures for a facility undergoing active construction and commissioning.
  • Establish contractor safety protocols for construction crews, equipment installers, and commissioning teams.
  • Create training programs for new U.S. employees, including onboarding, job-specific safety, and annual refresher training.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to: Hazardous waste, Chemical storage (resins, solvents, curing agents), Air emissions, Stormwater and wastewater, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC).
  • Maintain environmental permits and documentation required for startup and ongoing operations.
  • Conduct environmental audits and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish leading and lagging safety metrics for a new U.S. operation.
  • Build a proactive safety culture that aligns with OSHA Standards.
  • Identify gaps in processes, training, or equipment and implement sustainable improvements.
  • Support leadership in building a safety-first mindset across all departments.
What You Will Bring!
  • 7–10+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or electrical/high-voltage environments.
  • Expert knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (especially Subparts S, O, R, and Z).
  • Proven experience leading OSHA audits and managing regulatory interactions.
  • Strong background in risk assessment methodologies (JHA, PHA, FMEA, Bowtie).
  • Demonstrated ability to build EHS programs from the ground up.
  • Experience with incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; able to influence across all levels.
  • Proficiency with EHS management systems and digital reporting tools.
  • CSP, ASP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in high-voltage manufacturing, transformer components, or electrical equipment production.
