Job summary

HSP US is seeking an Asset Services Engineer to support U.S. and international customers on installed high-voltage equipment, performing inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and service activities.

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Experience with high-voltage equipment and power transmission.
  • Strong diagnostic, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and engineering documents.

Responsibilities

  • Support U.S. and international customers with technical questions on installed equipment.
  • Perform site inspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on HV equipment.
  • Coordinate parts sourcing, service planning, and scheduling.
  • Provide technical recommendations and prepare quotes.
  • Deliver training and technical support to customers and partners.
  • Travel across North America for site visits and field activities.

What We Are Looking For!

Asset Services & Customer Support

  • Support U.S. andinternational customers, serving as the primary point of contact fortechnical questions related to installed equipment and servicerequirements.
  • Perform onsite and offsiteinspections, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activitiesfor high-voltage equipment, including instrument transformers, coils,reactors, and related assets.
  • Coordinate spare partssourcing, service planning, and customer scheduling activities.
  • Conduct preliminary issueassessments and provide technical analysis to support problem resolution.
  • Assist with installation,commissioning, startup, and acceptance activities for new equipmentdeployments.
  • Conduct customer sitevisits to assess equipment condition and define service scopes.
  • Provide technicalrecommendations and support preparation of quotations, schedules, andservice proposals.
  • Deliver technical supportand training to customers and service partners regarding equipmentoperation, maintenance, and industry best practices.

Field Diagnostics & Reliability

  • Perform troubleshooting,diagnostic testing, and condition assessments for customer-installedequipment.
  • Conduct root causeanalysis investigations related to equipment performance, reliability, andservice concerns.
  • Support warranty andnon-warranty customer cases through resolution by coordinating withEngineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and third-party partners.
  • Document service findings,corrective actions, recommendations, and technical observations throughdetailed service reports.
  • Support field reliabilityinitiatives aimed at improving product performance and asset lifecyclemanagement.
  • Assist in identifyingtrends, recurring issues, and opportunities for continuous product andservice improvements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & OperationalExcellence

  • Collaborate closely withService Operations, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teamsto enhance customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance withcustomer requirements, safety standards, and field service proceduresduring all service activities.
  • Maintain service tools,testing equipment, documentation, and records in good working order.
  • Participate in continuousimprovement initiatives focused on customer experience, field reliability,safety, and operational excellence.
  • Support development andimplementation of service processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the growthand development of HSP US's service organization and aftermarketcapabilities.

Travel & Customer Engagement

  • Travel frequently tocustomer sites across the United States and Canada based on businessrequirements.
  • Represent HSP USprofessionally during customer visits, inspections, outages, commissioningprojects, and technical meetings.
  • Build strong relationshipswith customers through responsive communication and technical expertise.
  • Support emergency servicerequests and customer-critical situations when required.
What You Will Bring!
  • Technical diploma,Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering,Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a relatedtechnical discipline.
  • Solid knowledge ofhigh-voltage technology and power transmission systems.
  • Previous hands-onexperience working with high-voltage equipment, instrument transformers,coils, reactors, bushings, or related electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding ofelectrical testing, diagnostics, maintenance, and troubleshootingprocedures.
  • A strong hands-onmentality and practical experience working with tools and field-testingequipment.
  • Experience performingfield service activities, inspections, commissioning, startup support, andwarranty investigations.
  • Ability to read andinterpret technical drawings, schematics, engineering documents, andservice procedures.
  • Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills.
  • Ability to workindependently in dynamic field environments while managing multiplepriorities.
  • Familiarity with safetystandards and field service best practices within industrial, utility, orpower system environments.
  • Experience with SAP orother service management systems is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience withinutility, power transmission, energy, transformer, or manufacturingenvironments is strongly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability totravel extensively throughout North America.
  • Valid driver's licenserequired.
