Job summary

Ventura Foods is seeking an EHS Specialist to lead safety and environmental programs at our Birmingham, AL facility. This role ensures OSHA/EPA/FSMA compliance, maintains logs and permits, and coordinates training, audits, and incident investigations.

You will collaborate with HR, operations and regulatory agencies to keep the site inspection-ready and compliant. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in EHS and 5–10 years of experience, with CSP preferred, and strong knowledge of GMPs, spill

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
• Experience with behavior-based safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain OSHA compliance, safety programs and training.
• Develop safety procedures, documentation and audits.
• Lead safety committee and incident investigations.
• Manage emissions, permits, and regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate workers' compensation processes and insurance filings.
• Oversee MSDS/GHS records and EHS data systems.
• Ensure SQF/GMP/FSMA compliance and regulatory readiness.
