Job summary

PPG Delaware facility seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to manage our Environmental, Health and Safety program. You will report to the EHS Manager and guide best practices to sustain our EHS mission.

You will provide leadership and training to provide a safe workplace for our team members, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to minimize all liabilities/risk. You will have close interaction with all levels of the manufacturing, technical and engineering organizations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering or a related science.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting EHS programs in construction settings is desirable.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA).
• Knowledge in organizational change and building a safety culture through influence.
• Strong collaboration across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local and PPG policies.
• Provide leadership for EHS training.
• Evaluate the EHS Impacts of capital projects and perform risk assessments.
• Manage safety programs including Job Safety Analysis and incident investigations.
• Support site management with coaching and review of corrective actions.
• Lead audits, readiness, and corrective action management.
• Oversee emergency response activities.
• Support Site Safety Committee and subcommittees.
• Develop programs to reduce EHS risks per regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Complete and submit environmental reports and manage site permits.
• Oversee Waste Management and sustainability metrics.
