Job summary

Matthews Memorialization seeks a Manager – Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to lead site safety strategies and programs. You will promote a culture of safety and ensure regulatory and company compliance, acting as the face of safety for employees and operations.

The role requires a strong background in manufacturing safety leadership, the ability to drive PDCA cycles, and collaboration with site leadership to reduce risk and incidents. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 8 years of progressive Health and Safety leadership in manufacturing.
• 3–5 years in a direct or indirect leadership role.
• Periodic travel locally, nationally or internationally may be required.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and related applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site to achieve a sustainable safety culture and comply with policies and regulations.
• Engage with site leadership to improve EHS performance and operations.
• Drive Zero Incidents culture via MMS, PDCA, and corrective actions.
• Develop and implement Job Hazard Analysis and site safety procedures.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop team members and support staff as needed.
• Support system compliance with standards like ISO 14001 and OSHA VPPA.
