Job summary

Ducommun Incorporated is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Intern to support day-to-day EHS activities at the Coxsackie site. You will assist in safety and environmental compliance and participate in training programs.

The role involves supporting the Site or Regional EHS Manager, attending safety committee meetings, and helping with incident investigations and data collection for reporting and improvement.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or related field.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office and ERP navigation.
• Team-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Must have strong initiative, be a self-starter, and prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Support Site/Regional EHS Manager.
• Attend monthly facility safety committee meetings.
• Assist incident investigations and near-miss analysis.
• Ensure environmental compliance across waste, reports, and plans.
• Demonstrate and communicate the safety program on site.
• Collect and analyze EHS data; report to EHS Manager.
• Provide EHS training and orientation for staff.
• Assist in safety inspections and track corrective actions.
• Undertake other duties as assigned.

Environmental, Health, & Safety Intern

TheEnvironmental Health & Safety Intern's main responsibility is to ensurethat the day to day environmental and safety activities are being completed perthe site Environmental Health and Safety Plan. This position will also assist in all aspects of safety and environmentalcompliance and company training programs.

Job Summary

• Provides support to Site or Regional EHS Manager.
• Attends the monthly facility safety committee meetings.
• Helps complete incident investigations and understands differences of near misses and first aides.
• Practices environmental compliance through disposal arrangement, hazardous waste records, wastewater reports, storm water plan, chemical usage reports, air quality reporting, solid waste disposal, and fire department business plan.
• Demonstrates site safety program throughout the facility.
• Collects andanalyze EHS data to determine validity and quality and reports out to Site or Regional EHS Manager.
• Provides EHS training and orientation to new employees and other employees as needed.
• Assists in ensuring safety inspections are completed and track corrective actions to completion.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in EHS, Engineering, or another related function.
• Great computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint, and ability to navigate ERPs.
• Team-oriented with a continuous improvement outlook.
• Must have strong initiative and be a self-starter.
• Able to prioritize projects and tasks.
• Ability to work independently and a good attention to detail

Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
