Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Field Specialist I within the Water System Operations Group. This role supports safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship across facilities, with positions based in Jensen (Granada Hills) and Weymouth, and requires travel and on-site work.

You will learn and assist with developing EHS programs, inspections, training, and reporting to support a culture of safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of related experience in Environmental, Health and Safety.
• Valid California Class C Driver's License required at time of application.
• Cal/OSHA or EHS-related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and assist with development and implementation of EHS programs.
• Assist in EHS inspections, investigations, and compliance activities.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and records for EHS activities.
• Support delivery of EHS training and safety awareness initiatives.
• Collaborate with staff to promote safety and compliance culture.
• Assist with emergency response and ensure proper EHS procedures are followed.
• Work extended periods in remote locations as needed.
