Job summary

L.B. Foster in Texas is seeking an Operations Specialist to drive EHS, ESG, and CSI programs at the plant. You will train new hires, implement LEAN manufacturing techniques, and coordinate safety initiatives with corporate leadership to uphold standards.

Responsibilities include conducting safety training, maintaining audits and permits, and coaching hourly staff on safety topics. A strong background in manufacturing safety, LEAN, and leadership is required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree or experience in related field preferred.
• 3+ years in EHS, ESG and CSI in manufacturing environment.
• 6+ years working in or supporting production in manufacturing environment.
• LEAN and project management experience; PMP a plus.
• 2+ years in supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards across the plant.
• Coordinate and manage safety programs and training for staff.
• Lead EHS orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training for hourly employees.
• Track training and safety topics; lead daily huddles.
• Develop/review/update JSAs, SOPs, and VOPs as needed.
• Compile and report safety metrics and ESG performance.
• Manage SOR card process and drive change initiatives.
• Oversee workers’ compensation processes and safety incident handling.
• Audit ISO-14001 and OHSAS-45001 compliance and maintain permits.
• Schedule and manage monthly in-house SQCI auditing.
• Support Lean manufacturing, 5S projects, and continuous improvement.
