Job summary

Trane Technologies seeks an Environmental Health and Safety leader for its Arecibo operation in Puerto Rico. You will drive regulatory compliance, safety, and continuous improvement in collaboration with site teams.

You will supervise EHS staff, implement policies across OSHA/EPA/PR regulations, train personnel, and manage waste programs, while maintaining essential regulatory records and promoting lean innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Environmental Engineering) and 5+ years’ experience in EHS.
• Master degree preferred.
• Experience leading small teams.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; knowledge of EHS laws and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Supervise EHS staff and contractors; assign work plans and ensure compliance.
• Implement safety and environmental policies in line with OSHA, EPA, EQB, PRASA, and others.
• Represent the company in community or industry environmental groups.
• Train managers and employees in site practices, waste management, and chemical handling.
• Maintain environmental files and government-required records.
• Interpret data to ensure regulatory compliance and advise management.
• Lead hazardous waste programs and waste tracking across the facility.
• Support lean initiatives and ISO requirements.
• Ensure waste manifests and compliance with HW storage and labeling.
