Job summary

Wabash in Lafayette, IN seeks an EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety performance at the facility; ownership of environmental compliance and ISO 14001 system; build and develop the EHS team; partner with plant leadership to integrate EHS into daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years with direct ownership of environmental permits and agency reporting.
• Proven experience with EPA regulations (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, EPCRA) and corresponding state programs.
• Experience leading or supporting an ISO 14001 environmental management system.
• Solid working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards.
• 1+ years supervising or leading people, with demonstrated success developing a team.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with plant leadership, employees, and regulators.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Own the facility’s environmental compliance program, including air permit, storm water, wastewater, and regulated waste.
• Maintain permits and registrations; lead permit applications, renewals, and modifications.
• Ensure accurate and timely agency reports (air emissions, Tier II, TRI, discharge monitoring, waste).
• Lead site-level elements of ISO 14001 EMS, including aspects/impacts, objectives, audits, reviews.
• Manage environmental sampling, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Oversee disposal/recycling of regulated waste and training administration.
• Act as the site’s primary regulator contact during inspections and audits.
• Lead responses to environmental incidents and drive improvement projects.
