Job summary
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks an Engineer/Principal EHS Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on developing and improving safety programs, documenting procedures, and leading EHS initiatives to mitigate hazards across programs.
Must have BS (or MS/PhD) in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, or environmental science with experience levels specified; active DoD Secret clearance is required. Travel up to 10% and strong MS Office skills are expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master (or PhD) in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering, environmental science or related field.
- 2+ years EHS experience for Engineer; 5+ years for Principal Engineer; advanced degrees may offset experience.
Responsibilities
- Support development and improvement of EHS programs, procedures, and training.
- Prepare and maintain EHS documentation including JHA, PHA, and training content.
- Assist in roll-out of new EHS processes and tools as programs mature.
- Conduct incident investigations, safety observations, and hazard assessments.
- Interact with internal and external customers on EHS topics and ensure compliance.
