Job summary

Pentagon Technologies, Inc. in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to strengthen the safety, health, and environmental performance by designing controls and improving processes.

You will analyze hazards, conduct hazard analyses, develop risk mitigation strategies, and partner with operations, R&D, and maintenance to embed safe design concepts across projects. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 years of experience, with knowledge of

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of engineering controls and risk assessment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; MS Office and SharePoint.
PowerBI and ERP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct hazard analyses (PHA, FMEA, machine risk assessments).
Evaluate and implement engineering controls (ventilation, guarding, interlocks, ergonomics).
Review equipment/process designs for safety/regulatory impacts; drive risk reduction.
Develop and maintain safety documentation and equipment standards.
Lead investigations using 8D/RCCA to identify root causes and propose solutions.
Analyze safety data and publish KPIs to track site targets.
Collaborate with operations, R&D, maintenance, and project teams to embed EHS in lifecycles.
Maintain OSHA, EPA, NFPA compliance and related permits in wastewater, air quality, hazardous materials handling.
Develop safety training content and conduct sessions.
Perform regular EHS audits and monitor critical parameters to address risks.
