The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer applies engineering principles to strengthen the safety, health, and environmental performance of the organization. This role focuses on evaluating hazards, designing engineered controls, and improving processes to reduce operational risks. By analyzing equipment, workflows, and system performance, the EHS Engineer helps ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal EHS standards while enhancing the overall reliability and safety of operations.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise paired with a proactive risk assessment, root cause and failure analysis, and solution driven mindset. The EHS Engineer identifies- opportunities for continuous improvement, develops practical risk mitigation strategies, and collaborates closely with the cross functional teams to embed safe design concepts into both new and existing systems. The work supports long-term operational resilience by delivering sustainable, data informed safety solutions that drive meaningful reductions in risk & become champion of our BSAFE program.
Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.
Must be able to work in a group environment and be a self-starter. Must be able to perform in noisy, moist, or wet, and hazardous materials environments with standard protection devices. Must be able to handle necessary tools to perform tasks, including manual and mechanized material handling equipment for moving heavy loads through the production environment with little assistance. Must be able to work in a controlled chemical environment. Persons who are sensitive to chemical environments with such medical conditions as asthma, allergies, or extreme sensitivity to chemicals may not be considered as good candidates for this position.
Must pass Company required screening tests. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
