Job summary

SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, Contractor Management in Bastrop, TX. You will lead contractor safety programs, coordinate with supply, legal and operations, and serve as a safety advisor to the Business Operations team.

The role requires 3+ years in EHS, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations. Occasional travel and potential relocation may be required to support global sites.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety design, development and oversight.
• Experience in managing contractor safety programs is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA and international EHS regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement contractor management safety programs across SpaceX operations.
• Collaborate with supply, legal and operational partners to drive program success.
• Provide expert EHS support to Business Operations as trusted safety advisor.
• Travel to engage suppliers, contractors and internal teams as needed.
• Conduct site assessments, audits, hazard analyses and safety inspections with minimal oversight.
• Develop and implement safety programs, training and risk mitigation strategies tailored to operational needs.
• Respond to urgent safety concerns and incident investigations across multiple locations.
• Champion a strong safety culture while balancing operational timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
