Job summary

Monmouth University seeks a Director of Environmental, Health and Safety to establish and lead a comprehensive EHS program for faculty, staff and students on campus.

The role ensures compliance with OSHA, EPA and state regulations, oversees fire safety, hazardous materials, training, and incident response, and works with campus committees and management to maintain a safe environment. This in-person, on-campus position requires strong leadership and policy-development skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Experience developing and implementing EHS programs in a complex environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Establish and administer a comprehensive environmental health and safety program for campus.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NJDEP and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee fire safety, emergency response, hazardous materials management, and training.
• Coordinate with committees and campus leadership on safety initiatives.
• Inspect facilities and manage inventory of safety programs and equipment.
