Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in West Point, PA seeks an Associate Director, Technical Product Management for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Products to own multi-year product strategy across global EHS systems.

You will shape roadmaps, drive adoption, and partner with site leadership to improve safety, compliance, and data integrity. This role requires deep experience in manufacturing environments, SDLC governance, and hands-on work with EHS platforms, BI tools, and PM methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, CS, IT).
• Twelve or more (12+) years of project/program management experience and five or more (5+) years working with business stakeholders in a matrixed enterprise.
• Experience in manufacturing plant floor, capital projects, or site operations.
• Familiarity with EHS processes such as incident reporting, sustainability/emissions reporting, or risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC governance, change control, and regulatory compliance in life sciences/manufacturing (GMP, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11).
• Direct hands-on experience with enterprise EHS platforms (Enablon, Sphera, Intelex, Cority, Velocity EHS, or ePAS).
• Proficiency with tools such as P6, MS Project, Loadspring, O365, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or CA Clarity PPM.
• Proficiency with systems like AutoDesk, AutoCAD Plant3D, PIMS, Octave, Forte3D.
• Proficiency with AI platforms (Gemini, CoPilot, Claude) and BI tools (PowerBI).
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and external vendors; drive accountability.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage full lifecycle of global EHS digital products from discovery to optimization.
• Define and maintain multi-year EHS product roadmap aligned with GSE and MEEHS priorities.
• Drive continuous discovery with site safety leads and plant operations; translate needs into user stories and backlogs.
• Apply disciplined project management to lead cross-functional projects on-time and within budget.
• Leverage LEAN, standard work, and process re-engineering to reduce waste and speed delivery.
• Build strategic relationships across GSE leadership, site engineering, plant managers, IT cybersecurity, and enterprise architecture.
• Ensure products/releases comply with SDLC, GxP/GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity standards.
