Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Associate Director of Technical Product Management for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) products.

You will own the multi-year strategy and lifecycle of digital EHS capabilities across a global manufacturing portfolio, partnering with site safety, environmental engineering, and plant operations to deliver value. You will define roadmaps, manage backlogs, and ensure releases meet GxP/GMP and 21 CFR Part 11 standards while leveraging LEAN principles to accelerate

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 12+ years of project/program management; 5+ years with business stakeholders in a matrixed enterprise.
• Experience in manufacturing plant floor, capital projects, or site operations with EHS processes.
• Solid SDLC governance, change control, and regulatory compliance in life sciences/manufacturing.
• Hands-on with enterprise EHS platforms (e.g., Enablon, Sphera, Intelex, Cority, Velocity EHS, ePAS).
• Proficiency with project/portfolio tools and BI software (P6, MS Project, Excel, PowerBI, etc.).
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and external vendors; strong executive stakeholder skills.
• LEAN/continuous improvement experience.
• Preferred PM/Agile certifications; Lean Six Sigma beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own lifecycle of global EHS digital products from discovery to deployment and optimization.
• Define multi-year EHS product roadmap aligned with business objectives.
• Lead discovery with site safety leads and operations; translate needs into user stories.
• Apply disciplined project management to cross-functional initiatives.
• Drive process improvements via LEAN, standard work, and re-engineering.
• Build strategic relationships with GSE leadership and plant operations.
• Ensure SDLC, GMP/GxP, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance for products/releases.
