Job summary

EVAPCO is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator to support environmental programs, occupational health, and industrial safety. You will develop and implement EHS solutions, lead training, and ensure compliance with EVAPCO and regulatory requirements.

The role reports to the Site EHS Manager and involves working closely with supervisors to drive safe operations and mitigate risks across the facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Professional certifications are a plus (CHMM, ASP, etc.).
  • Certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED, or the ability to earn certification within 6 months.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Support programs to reduce work-related illnesses and injuries and improve operations productivity.
  • Develop safety training for management and the line organization.
  • Develop action plans, conduct plant-wide safety inspections, and monitor corrective actions.
  • Assist supervisors with accident investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Lead EHS-related training sessions and periodic meetings (Safety Committee, First Responder, New Employee Orientation).
  • Set facility EHS performance goals, monitor program effectiveness, and report progress to site management.
  • Maintain documentation of incidents and insurance correspondence for workers' compensation claims.
  • Inspect processes, equipment, facilities, and machinery for hazards and compliance.
  • Develop safety-related tools to improve performance and meeting compliance requirements.
  • May act as Emergency Coordinator and handle hazardous waste manifests and labeling.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and community groups to uphold EVAPCO's EHS reputation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS Manager.
