Job summary

ofi is hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to support the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs on-site. You will coordinate safety training, inspections, and regulatory compliance to maintain a safe workplace.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in EHS or related fields, familiarity with OSHA rules, and proficiency with MS Office. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, and candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks and communicate

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required; some college is preferred.
• 1–3 years’ related work experience is required.
• Experience in manufacturing, environmental, health and safety, or agriculture is preferred.
• OSHA 10/30 General Industry Training is preferred.
• Working knowledge of safety and environmental laws, rules, and regulations is required.
• Familiarity with Safety and Food Safety programs is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
• Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees.
• Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify hazards or environmental impacts.
• Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, near misses and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
• Support preparation and submission of reports to regulatory agencies.
• Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
• Assist in minimizing risk of job-related accidents and promote OSHA awareness.
• Provide information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of hazards.
• Implement use of PPE and safety equipment.
• Monitor emergency action plans.
• Assist with return-to-work/light-duty programs.
• Assist with waste management, hazardous materials handling, recycling, and environmental initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
