Job summary

Clayton is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator to oversee ISO functions and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. The role reports to the General Manager and involves updating procedures, training teams, and coordinating audits.

The candidate will develop EMS procedures, track data, conduct investigations, and drive continuous improvement while supporting safety education and community awareness efforts across Clayton’s operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates in environmental is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with analytical thinking and strong organization.
  • MS Office proficiency including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus.
  • Good people/communication skills and the ability to follow‑up.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the General Manager in all environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Schedule EMS Committee meetings and target/objective team meetings.
  • Track data and graph trends related to ISO objectives and targets.
  • Create and update ISO communication media and training materials.
  • Plan and conduct EMS training (ERP, SOP, general EMS training).
  • Lead waste segregation and proper disposal of universal, special and hazardous waste.
  • Maintain environmental compliance tracking sheet and document control.
  • Conduct investigations of non-conformances and perform root cause analysis.
  • Support internal audits, management reviews, and third‑party audits.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting compliance and assist with safety education and investigations.
  • Promote environmental awareness and coordinate community outreach.

Position Summary

This person will coordinate with the General Manager in all environmental, health and safety programs. Responsible for the ISO functions of the organization. Implements and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations while coordinating required training for environmental and ISO programs. Reports directly to the General Manager.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Work with the team to develop environmental procedures
  • Responsible for overall administration of facility ISO procedures and manuals
  • Schedule EMS Committee meetings and target and objective team meetings
  • Track required data and graph and trend those related to ISO objectives and targets
  • Create and update ISO communication media (bulletin board, tabletops, video flyers, etc.)
  • Schedule, track and when necessary conduct EMS training (ERP training, general EMS training, SOP training, etc.)
  • Implement and train team on waste segregation to include coordinating universal, special and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Maintain environmental compliance tracking sheet.
  • Maintain all updates to manual, provide document control, file IAW ISO requirements and properly manage obsolete information.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of non‑conformances using the required corrective action form and root cause analysis.
  • Work with EMS teams to develop preventative actions and maintain continuous improvement log.
  • Schedule and participate with the General Manager in conducting Internal Audits, Management reviews and third‑party audits.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of all local, state and federal laws and submit required data to third party for processing of regulatory reports.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, lead the cultural change to become more environmentally friendly at home and at work.
  • Develop relationships in the local community to further environmental awareness and change.
  • Works with General Manager to help coordinate safety education, training, investigations of accidents, and other functions as assigned by the General Manager.
Education and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associates in environmental is a plus.
  • Self‑motivated

  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus
  • Good people/communication skills and the ability to follow‑up and hold people accountable
