Job summary

Salute seeks an EHS Coordinator to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives on a mission-critical campus data center project. You will implement sustainability programs, promote safety culture, and protect health and well-being of employees, customers, suppliers, and visitors on site.

Responsibilities span facility inspections, safety audits, incident investigations, training delivery, and coordination with site leadership and federal/state agencies to ensure compliance and continuous

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Strong collaboration with teams and stakeholders for safety program delivery.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT).
  • Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect facilities and ensure safety equipment, PPE, and maintenance meet standards.
  • Conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and implement corrective plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports with corrective actions for compliance.
  • Analyze risk scenarios and determine potential impact.
  • Design and implement safety-related programs to mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate training initiatives for engineering, data center, and facilities teams.
  • Lead safety change advocacy for new infrastructure and processes.
  • Support incident investigations with third-party safety representatives.
  • Engage with site management and regulators for ongoing compliance.

EHS Coordinator

The E H S Coordinator w ill b e r e s p o n s i b l e f o r i mp r o v i n g t h e e n v i r o n m e n t a l , h e a l t h , a n d s a f e t y f o r m i s s i o n c r i t i c a l , h y p e r s c a l e da t a ce n t e r s i n a c am p u s s e tt i n g . T h e E H S Coordinator w ill i m p l e m e n t s u s t a i n a b ili t y i n i t i a t i v e s, a d v a n c e s a f e t y c u l t u r e , e n s u r e s u s t a n ab il i t y i n i t i a t i v e s a r e f o ll o w e d a n d r e p o r t e d , a n d w i l l p r o t ec t t h e h e a l t h a n d w e ll b e i n g o f e m p l o y e e s , c u s t o r e r s , s u p p l i e r s a n d v i s i t o r s a t t h e c amp u s .

Primary Duties within v a r i e d s cop e o f wo r k a n d e x pe c t at i ons w ill ran g e f r om:

  • Advocate safe changes in the f a ce of n e w i n f r a st u c t u r e, n ew t o ol s , a nd n ew pr o cesses.
  • Investigate and a naly z e i ncide n t re p ort s i n volvi n g wo r k ‐ r el a t e d i n j u r ie s , ill n e ss e s , a n d recommend me a s u r es t o p r eve n t rec u rre n ce .
  • Maintain extensive and frequent interaction w i t h c om p a n y m ana geme n t , re p resen t a tives of f e deral a nd s t a te a ge n cie s a n d ot h er sa f e ty p rofe ss i o n a l s.
  • Supports E HS tech n ical su b mi ss io ns for c u s to m er S O Q s a n d R F Q s.
  • Reviews Contractor Method of Procedures and Safety Plans for com p li an ce wit h cus t o m er requirements, and O S HA or i n t er n a tio na l e qu iv a le n t s tanda r ds.
  • Provides E H & S t raining t o s t a ff a n d co n s tr u c tio n m an a ge r s.
  • Support the delivery te a m w i t h s elec t ion s o f 3r d pa r t y E H S re p re s e n t a tiv e s for pr oj e ct s as requi r ed.
  • First point of offsite escala t io n i n t h e eve n t o f a sa fe t y i n ci d e n t o n a p r o je ct s i t e ; su p por t s a n d advises t he 3r d p a r ty E H S re p re s e n t a tive a nd t h e d elivery te a m du ri n g i n cident i nves t ig a tions a nd r oot c a u s e a n a ly s e s
  • Performs periodic project site w a lk s and i n s p ec t i o n s w i t h co n s tr u c t i o n m ana ger s a nd 3r d Maintain environmental p e r m i t s/p r o gr a m s t o e n s u re com p li an ce wit h a ll a pp lica b l e ag e n cy s.
  • Identify and evaluate operational E H S ri s k s a n d a ss e ss t h e im p a c t to t h e b us i n e ss.
  • Conduct assessments of e x isti n g E H S p rotocol s a n d d etermi n e efficie n cie s to b e

gained through previously established p r ogr a m s.

  • Tracking waste r ecy c li n g, e n ergy, w a ter usa ge, a n d gree nh o us e g as emi ss i o ns.
  • Evaluate green energy a l te rn a tive s a nd pa r t n er wit h o u t s i d e re s o u rce s w h ere applicable to implement me a n i n g f u l c ha n g e t o e n ergy us e .
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and ann u a l sus t a i n a b ili t y re p orti n g to t h e s i te m a n a ger a n d c us t omer as need e d .
  • Assess EHS t raini n g n e eds ba s e d o n i d e n t i f ie d o p er a tio na l ri s k s and e n s u r e t h a t w o r kf orce training activities a re p r o v i d e d t o me e t b u s i n e ss and legi s l a tive re qu i e m e nts.
