Description
Assist the Safety Manager with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. Assist the Safety Manager in assuring that MTG complies with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental laws, regulations and standards.
- Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace.
- Identify and evaluate occupational health, safety and environmental conditions.
- Conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices.
- Provide guidance concerning all city, state and federal compliance regulations.
- Direct or assist in the development of education and training materials.
- Conduct safety training programs and assist all new employees with safety orientation.
- Compile, analyze, interpret and report accident, loss and exposure statistical data and report it to the Safety Manager.
- All other duties assigned.

Requirements
- An associate’s degree in safety engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences, or a related field is preferred; and 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training.
- Knowledge of delivering hands on health, safety and environmental training.
- Strong knowledge of industry-specific requirements
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (training/presentations/report writing).
- Ability to lead and direct teams, strong PC skills in Microsoft Office products, skilled in the standards, concepts, practices, and procedures within health, safety and environmental fields.
