Job summary

Quanta Manufacturing Fremont seeks an EHS Coordinator to implement and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs in our semiconductor manufacturing environment. This onsite role requires travel across locations to support EHS activities.

You will lead regulatory audits, develop programs for chemical safety and waste management, conduct risk assessments and investigations, and deliver training to employees. Strong collaboration with engineering, facilities, and operations is required.

Job description

The EHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs that ensure regulatory compliance and support a culture of safety within our semiconductor manufacturing operations. This role plays a key part in protecting employees, the environment, and the integrity of our processes in a highly controlled cleanroom and high-tech production environment. This is an onsite position that requires regular travel to support EHS activities across multiple locations.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NFPA, standards).
  • Maintain and manage documentation for regulatory audits, permits, and inspections.
  • Support EHS reporting requirements including hazardous waste, chemical inventory, etc.
  • Program Implementation & Monitoring
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs including chemical safety, waste management, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and emergency response.
  • Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and incident investigations.
  • Perform regular EHS audits and inspections in the production floor, cleanroom, and support areas.
Training & Communication
  • Deliver EHS-related training and education for employees, contractors, and new hires.
  • Promote EHS awareness across the facility through campaigns, meetings, and safety committees.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, facilities, operations) to integrate EHS best practices.
  • Lead or support investigations into incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain incident logs, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics (e.g., TRIR, DART).
  • Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal in line with RCRA and company policies.
  • Support sustainability initiatives such as waste reduction and resource conservation.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Good working knowledge of EHS regulations
  • Experience in identification and assessment of hazards
  • Experience in managing hazardous waste
  • Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Experience in developing and delivering training to other team members
  • Strong organization skills and attention to details
  • Effective in working with other cross-functional teams
Education and Experience
  • 2-5 years of EHS experience in semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and chemical handling in a semiconductor environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with efficiency, a large and diversified workload, and challenging situations.
  • May need to wear safety shoes as part of the job when required
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking significant distances
  • Work may require lifting up to 25 pounds
