EH&S Supervisor
Position Summary

The EH&S Supervisor will be responsible for supporting sites effort to meet all company, OSHA and EPA regulations and be in compliance with the regulations. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and corporate based reporting systems such as Gensuite. Additionally this role will be responsible for leading accident investigations with a focus on reducing work related injuries through policy management, training, inspections/audits, and worker's compensation management. They will include corresponding with local authorities as necessary to ensure compliance with customer requirements, government regulations, wastewater discharge, air emissions, and hazardous waste. This includes, but not limited to troubleshooting, recommending, and implementing areas of improvement where compliance with regulations is needed with oversight by the site EH&S Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Participate and guide plant operations to ensure safety program is robust and adhered to throughout the Plant.
  • Conduct standard/routine environmental compliance audits/inspections for applicable on‑site programs. (hazwaste inspections, NJDEP inspections, and applicable water inspections (storm water and wastewater) etc.)
  • Respond to and investigate events including injuries and near‑miss events. Drive closure of effective corrective action items related to the investigation.
  • Coordinating compliance of EHS applicable programs; (LOTO, Fall Protection, IH, Air, Water, Waste regulations etc.)
  • Support management to ensure compliance with all EHS program expectations and applicable federal & state laws.
  • Assist with completing, documenting, and submitting all required EHS reports and recordkeeping information.
  • Communicating, coordinating, or administering EHS training as needed, including new hires and contractors.
  • Assist and complete documentation for regulatory compliance activities through the EHS Calendar according.
  • Assisting managers to ensure compliance with external / internal audits and Federal, State, Local EHS regulations.
  • Preparing environmental compliance reports and ensuring permit conditions are followed per regulations.
  • Train and assist leadership to complete safety and compliance responsibilities including audits, etc.
  • Conduct inspections/audits and ensure corrective actions are monitored and documented.
  • Update Key Performance Indicators (KPI) (Leading and Lagging Indicators).
  • Evaluate hazardous conditions and develop hazard control practices and eliminate and remove the hazards.
  • Work with department managers/supervisors on safety and 6S change initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Investigate and document all accidents/injuries and recommend immediate corrective actions.
  • Ensure the Cardinal Rules of Safety are adhered to throughout the facility.
  • Work with production employees on EH&S changes for their department including ergonomics.
  • Perform workplace hazard assessments and EHS audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
  • Ability to document, plan, measure, and execute EH&S compliance programs.
  • Must be a motivated self‑starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience working with industrial pretreatment processes to remove metals such as silver, nickel, etc.

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Safety, Environmental, or related Engineering field. MS or MBA degree is desirable.
  • Prefer 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment working in EH&S or related capacity.
  • Thorough knowledge of 6s and continuous improvement is a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Squatting, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, stair climbing, ladder climbing, other climbing, walking on rough surfaces, near moving machinery.
  • Frequencies range from less than 1% of time to more than 30 hours per week.
