  • Support training and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions.
  • Conduct facility walk-throughs to verify adherence to programs.
  • Assist with inspections and maintaining OSHA logs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: EHS Coordinator

Location: Environmental Health and Safety

Department: Quality Control

Reporting To: EHS Lead

Responsible For (Staff): No

This position will assist the Bedford, New Hampshire EHS Site Lead, and Industrial Hygiene department in ensuring compliance with governmental regulations and PCI EHS programs, policies and procedures. The position will also be an integral part of EHS continuous improvement efforts, including, but not limited to: employee engagement initiatives, data analytics, and the establishment and sustainability of best practices in EHS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the EHS Lead in maintaining site and Corporate EHS policies & programs to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Analyze job tasks and assess risk on a regular basis, ensuring that risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Effectively utilize PCI's EHS data management system(s) to analyze for trends and implement strategies to address and effectively control identified trends.
  • Partner with the Global Industrial Hygiene team to ensure compliance with PCI and regulatory Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology requirements, including Health Hazard Assessments, Hazard Data Sheets, Air and Noise Sampling, and IH control implementation and utilization.
  • Ensure EHS employee engagement initiatives are operating effectively and achieving engagement objectives, including Behavior Based Safety, Safety Suggestions, EH&S Committees, and similar.
  • Deliver site-specific EHS training to assist in incident reduction and implementation of EHS programs.
  • Assist site Management in the completion of incident investigations to identify causes and corrective actions.
  • Assist site Management in ensuring corrective actions identified for incidents, hazards, or similar are: effective at risk reduction, sustainable, tracked to completion, and implemented across the site.
  • Complete routine walk-throughs of facilities to ensure compliance with both internal and external programs, policies, and regulations.
  • Participate in the site Medical Emergency Response Team, and Mental Health First aid team
  • Assist with site-level EHS-related customer or regulatory inspections/audits and assist with other inspections/audits as requested.
  • Assist Safety Data Sheets, Chemical Inventories, and Product Health Hazard Assessments are accurate and that employees have and know how to access this information.
  • Provide EHS technical expertise for the site; stay abreast of current and emerging technical and professional aspects of EHS
  • Assist in maintaining and tracking of data needed for OSHA logs
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Minimum Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak in a way that allows one to participate effectively in various conversations. Ability to read various types of standard items addressed to general readers.
  • Intermediate Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions that may be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that involve several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High Standard of Report Writing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams
Preferred
  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Ability to display original thinking and creativity.
  • Experience in EHS and claims management a plus
  • Degree in or working towards a degree in EHS a plus
  • Coursework or certifications in EHS a plus
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing a plus
