Job summary

P&S Transportation, founded in 2004, is a growing flatbed trucking operation with nationwide terminals. The Safety Specialist will support the EHS department by reviewing driver medical questionnaires and DOT documentation, ensuring accuracy before driver release from orientation.

The role may involve HOS reviews and other EHS tasks, with opportunities to grow into additional responsibilities. We seek detail-oriented professionals with strong organization, confidentiality, and communication

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented and accurate review of documentation.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel).
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Experience with DOT, safety, or driver onboarding preferred.
• Willingness to learn DOT, OSHA and other EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review Post-Job Offer Medical Questionnaires completed by drivers during orientation.
• Compare questionnaire responses with DOT medical examination documentation to identify discrepancies, omissions, or potential concerns.
• Escalate items requiring additional review to EHS leadership prior to driver release from orientation.
• Communicate with orientation, recruiting, safety, and other departments to obtain necessary information or documentation.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records related to the review process.
• Assist with Hours of Service (HOS) compliance reviews and related driver documentation as needed.
• Support OSHA, DOT, safety, compliance, reporting, and other EHS projects as assigned.
• Assist with additional EHS responsibilities as the position develops.
