Job summary

PITCO Foods in Northern California is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Assistant Manager to support the EHS Manager and drive company-wide safety programs. You will help maintain SOPs, conduct inspections, deliver training, and coordinate with departments to ensure regulatory compliance.

This role requires knowledge of Cal/OSHA and strong communication, with the ability to work across production and warehouse environments. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA and Federal OSHA regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present information clearly to managers, employees, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining safety documentation, including SOPs, policies, and procedures.
• Support safety inspections of equipment, machinery, and safety guards.
• Assist in delivering safety training programs and updating SOPs and policies.
• Support implementation and administration of safety programs (HazCom/Right-to-Know, PPE, Fall Protection, LOTO, environmental compliance).
• Assist with work-related injury investigations and follow through on corrective actions.
• Conduct facility walkthroughs to monitor hazards and compliance across production and warehouse areas.
