Job summary

Hope Services in Silicon Valley seeks an EHR Administrator to manage Netsmart Avatar and related databases. You will lead project work, train end users, and ensure accurate data, billing, and reporting across departments.

The role requires a Bachelor's in IS/Health Informatics and at least four years of supervisory experience in a rehabilitation setting, with strong SQL, Avatar expertise, and a focus on data governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field plus four years of supervisory experience in rehabilitation or disability services.
• 3+ years supporting a production EHR or comparable healthcare database.
• Strong SQL; Crystal Reports; Excel and Word proficiency.
• HIPAA, CMIA, and breach notification knowledge; secure data handling.
• Experience with Avatar or Netsmart software and data governance concepts.

Responsibilities

• EHR system administration: updates, releases, access provisioning, and vendor escalation.
• EHR form modeling: build/modify Avatar forms with validation and workflow routing.
• SQL and database engineering: T-SQL, ETL, data warehouse work on SQL Server and InterSystems IRIS.
• Billing error correction: monitor and fix Avatar billing issues; address root causes.
• Month-end billing: ensure accuracy and timely submission; coordinate with Finance.
• Reporting: create/modify Crystal Reports; build dashboards and Excel analyses.
• Data quality and controls: implement checks and reconciliations for data integrity.
• Audit support: prepare data and walkthroughs for audits; regulatory reporting.
• Staff training and support: train users, create guides, and run a super-user program.
• Connectivity: manage database connectivity and test environments; ensure outages are minimized.
• Documentation and change control: maintain data dictionary and change workflows.
• Communication: liaise with clinical, finance, and exec audiences; document clearly.
