Job summary

Henrietta Johnson Medical Center (HJMC) in Delaware seeks an Electronic Health Record Optimization Coordinator to train staff on the EHR and population health platform while improving clinical and administrative workflows.

You will design role-based training, evaluate workflows, build templates and reporting logic, support onboarding, monitor adoption, and collaborate with quality, compliance, and operations to ensure data integrity and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent significant experience.
  • 3+ years in EHR training, optimization, or healthcare workflow redesign.
  • Ability to train end users and translate technical concepts for non-technical staff.
  • Strong documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers role-based EHR and population health platform training for staff.
  • Evaluates workflows and partners with leaders to design, test, implement, and monitor improvements for access, quality, and compliance.
  • Builds templates, smart forms, order sets, user tools, and reporting logic within delegated scope.
  • Supports onboarding, refresher training, remediation, and change management for system updates and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors end-user adoption, documentation quality, and system utilization to identify improvements.
  • Collaborates with clinical, quality, compliance, and operations teams on data integrity and audit readiness.
  • Assists in troubleshooting workflow issues and coordinates vendor support.
  • Maintains confidentiality and supports privacy and security incident reporting.

About This Role

The Electronic Health Record Optimization Coordinator trains workforce members on the electronic health record and population health platform based on role-based responsibilities while continuously optimizing clinical and administrative workflows. The role improves quality, operational efficiency, documentation integrity, and data reliability across the health center.

What You'll Do
  • Develops and delivers role-based EHR and population health platform training for clinical, operational, and administrative staff.
  • Evaluates current workflows and partners with leaders to design, test, implement, and monitor workflow improvements that support access, quality, revenue integrity, and compliance.
  • Builds or maintains templates, smart forms, order sets, user tools, reporting logic, and optimization resources within the scope delegated by leadership and vendor controls.
  • Supports onboarding, refresher training, remediation, and change management for system updates, new workflows, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors end-user adoption, documentation quality, and system utilization trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partners with clinical, quality, compliance, and operations teams on data integrity, audit readiness, role-based access, and issue resolution.
  • Assists in troubleshooting workflow issues, coordinating vendor support, and documenting enhancement requests and training materials.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and supports privacy and security incident reporting, access review, and workforce compliance efforts as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in health informatics, healthcare administration, information systems, nursing, or a related field; equivalent significant experience may be considered.
  • At least three years of experience with EHR training, optimization, clinical informatics, health IT, or healthcare workflow redesign.
  • Demonstrated ability to train end users, analyze workflows, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Strong documentation, project coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks and a population health or registry platform such as Azara DRVS.
This Role Is Grant-Funded

This position is funded through Delaware's federal Rural Health Transformation Program grant, awarded through the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services. Although the RHT award covers a five-year project period, funding is approved and allocated annually, and continued employment in this role is contingent on annual grant reapproval.
