Job summary

Wisconsin Department of Health Services seeks an EHR Analyst in the Medical Records Office to lead strategic planning and coordinate EHR-related activities across the facility.

You will design data mining solutions with partners to guide leadership on health information sharing, resident privacy, and policy improvements, and you will train staff while serving as Privacy Officer and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading projects or workgroups.
• Experience in health care records management including using an electronic health records system to review or interpret medical records.
• Experience developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives to improve service delivery, quality of care, or other similar initiatives.
• Experience interpreting and applying confidentiality laws such as HIPAA laws, statutes, and Personal Health/Personal Identification Information regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement strategic planning for EHR within the Medical Records Office.
• Design and develop data mining solutions to analyze data guiding leadership on health information sharing and resident privacy.
• Develop facility policies and strategic planning to improve quality of care and services.
• Serve on workgroups to understand EHR impact, analyze content, design workflow, and validate EHR development.
• Serve as the program liaison to the EHR office to manage security roles and protect patient privacy.
• Collaborate with administration to develop information sharing and communication plan goals related to health information policies.
• Provide consultation and training to staff on EHR and related medical record systems.
• Serve as the CWC Privacy Officer.
