Job summary

Corvant in Mississippi is seeking an entry-level EH&S Specialist I to support safety inspections and training while building foundational expertise under the Sr. EH&S Manager.

This role requires travel throughout the Southeast, an OSHA 30-hour certification or commitment to obtain within 30 days, and a bachelor's degree in Safety or related field; strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or related field required/preferred.
• 0-2 years of construction safety or field experience.
• Developing knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction safety requirements.
• OSHA 30-hour certification required or must obtain within 30 days.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Effective communication with field crews and management.
• Reliable, safety-first mindset and professional conduct.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with job site safety inspections and document observations under senior staff guidance.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective action documentation.
• Deliver basic safety training programs and toolbox talks to field crews as directed.
• Distribute and track PPE and safety supplies across assigned job sites.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log entries and safety documentation with accuracy.
• Track open corrective actions and follow up on closure status.
• Assist with development and distribution of safety communications and alerts.
• Participate in GC safety meetings and pre-task planning as directed.
• Learn and develop proficiency in OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
• Support the EH&S Supervisor with special safety projects and program activities.
