Job summary

NRG Energy is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to oversee Aurora and Rockford generating facilities. The role leads environmental, health, safety, and NERC compliance programs, driving a safety-over-production culture while coordinating with corporate safety teams.

The base site will be determined by location and travel between sites is required; strong regulatory acumen and leadership are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
• Broad understanding of compliance and regulatory reporting.
• Experience with OSHA, USEPA, IEPA, and NERC regulations.

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage EH&S programs across facilities.
• Lead investigations and audits to minimize risk and ensure compliance.
• Prepare regulatory filings and reports for environmental and safety programs.
